Inauguration and such

On the 20th I was able to go to the Inauguration. It was quite the experience. It started with waking up at 3:30 and eating an egg breakfast with all the interns. We all had tickets, and the 4 of us that had SEATED tickets (which were kind of a big deal) headed out together. We had to wait in line for 2 hours to get through security and then wait in our seats for another long while in the freezing cold. It was miserable. But eventually the program started and we heard music and saw some famous people on the big screen and heard people boo President Bush (which pretty much ruined the experience for me) and then saw Obama and Biden get sworn in. We heard President Obama give his address and while I don't agree with the man on most things, I will admit he is a very good speaker. The entire experience was not what I expected it to be. But it was cool to be part of such a historic moment, something that you know will be written about in history books in the future. It was also cool to have such good seats, especially when most of the people had to stand on the Mall or not get in! That is the very brief version of my Inauguration experience. More details are available upon request. :)
